Introducing Idsync: Snapshot, Rollback & Sync for Identity Providers#
We're excited to announce the alpha launch of Idsync – a new tool designed to protect your identity infrastructure through automated snapshots, comprehensive change tracking, and (coming soon) point-in-time recovery.
The Problem We're Solving#
Identity providers like AWS Cognito, Auth0, and Firebase Auth are critical infrastructure. They manage user authentication for your applications, store sensitive user data, and control access to your systems. Yet, most organizations have no backup strategy for their IDP.
We've heard horror stories:
- A developer accidentally deleting a production user pool
- Configuration changes breaking authentication for thousands of users
- Compliance audits failing due to lack of change history
- Hours spent trying to recreate a complex IDP setup from memory
Idsync is here to change that.
What Idsync Does#
Automated Snapshots#
Idsync continuously monitors your identity provider and captures snapshots of:
- User data and profiles
- Groups and role assignments
- Authentication configurations
- App client settings
- Custom attributes and schemas
All snapshots are stored securely in your own cloud storage (currently S3, with more options coming).
Change Tracking & Audit Logs#
Every change to your IDP is tracked and logged. You can see:
- What changed
- When it changed
- The before and after states
This gives you complete visibility into your identity infrastructure and helps meet compliance requirements.
Team Management#
Collaborate with your team on managing your identity providers. Control access and permissions from a single dashboard.
What's Coming#
We're actively working on:
- Point-in-Time Rollback – Restore your IDP to any previous state
- Instant Revert – One-click rollback for recent changes
- Clone Environments – Create copies of your IDP for testing
- Smart Notifications – Alerts for critical configuration changes
- More IDP Support – Google Identity Platform, Firebase Auth, and more
Current Capabilities#
For our alpha launch, we support:
- AWS Cognito – Full snapshot support for user pools
- Amazon S3 – Store your snapshots securely
- Change Tracking – Complete audit trail
- Team Management – Multi-user access
